Sherlock selected to contest election

Minister of State Seán Sherlock was selected this week to contest the general election for the Labour Party in the Cork East constituency. The convention was chaired by former Labour Party leader and Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore. “I’m incredibly humbled and honoured to have been chosen to represent the Labour Party at the next election,” said Deputy Sherlock at the convention.
“There is a huge job of work to be done in Cork East and I am determined to finish that job, if the people give me that mandate. We have heavily invested in education and I will continue to make education a priority. There is no doubt the next election will be tough but I am looking forward to it immensely.”
Minister Sherlock highlighted to the Mallow Star that he was proud of his record of achievement in the Mallow area, but “there are still projects that I am involved heavily in that I want to see finished. I hope the people of Mallow will allow me to finish the job.”
