Newcastle West is being honoured with a full-length Nationwide programme at the end of March. The feature will no doubt benefit business and tourism greatly. Emphasis will be on the past, present and future of the town including the ‘Newcastle West – Vision 2023: A strategic development plan’, Tourism, Sports and Leisure and Arts and Culture.
Matt Kelly Productions will be in charge of producing the programme and Mary Kennedy, presenter of Nationwide will conduct a range of interviews for the broadcast. Filming will take place at various times over the next few weeks, beginning around March 12th.
Already Newcastle West Development Association and Newcastle West Tidy Towns, along with the great support of Limerick City and County Council, are working hard to have the town looking its very best. Although it’s early for planting, colour can add significantly when filming, so planting will be enhanced on the mall and flower pots will be added in a number of strategic locations.
We are encouraging business owners and residents to play a part in making our town look bright, colourful and neat in whatever way they can. The great efforts made following our recent snowy weather spell out how working together can make things better for everybody. We look forward to the same cooperative, community spirit for this unique opportunity to highlight what a wonderful town Newcastle West is.
