‘Superintendent Joe Roe joined An Garda Síochána on 8th August 1973. He was posted to Navan Garda Station in December of that year and went on to Rathkeale Garda Station in April 1979.
February 1982 saw him moving to Askeaton Garda Station and, on promotion to Sergeant, to Henry Street in May 1983 and then on to Roxboro Road in 1992. He moved to Ballina, Co. Mayo, in October 1994 on promotion to Inspector and to Newcastle West in June 1995. Joe then went to Kanturk in 2003 as Superintendent and returned to Askeaton in March 2006 as Superintendent and District Officer.
