T.J. HANDED THREE-YEAR TERM

Following Limerick’s fine performance in last Sunday’s All-Ireland senior hurling semi-final, Limerick County Board wasted no time in handing T.J. Ryan a three year term as the county’s senior hurling manager.

The Garryspillane man, whose term as county boss ended on Sunday, met Board officials on Tuesday and was offered a three year term with an annual review. Ryan accepted the proposal and it was ratified without dissent at Tuesday evening’s monthly meeting of the County Board. It was also agreed that T.J. Ryan’s backroom team would be retained en bloc.

In a bulletin late on Tuesday evening Limerick County Board stated: “Limerick CLG is delighted to announce that T.J. Ryan will continue in his role as Limerick senior hurling manager for a further three year term. T.J, his backroom team and the entire panel should be complimented for their unwavering commitment to the Limerick jersey and the entertainment they gave all Limerick fans this season. The Board looks forward to offering our continuing support in 2015 and beyond.”
