Tadhg and Shane Aiding Community Development in Kenya

Mallow men Tadhg McMahon and Shane Crowley have travelled to Africa in the past week to aid in the development of housing and community facilities in Kenya.
The pair made the journey last Wednesday, 22nd June, with Le Chéile Africa, an organisation that aims to build healthier lives by enhancing the dignity and quality of life of individuals, families and communities. Tadhg and Shane, along with fellow Corkmen John and Eoghan Mulcahy will remain in Kenya until this Saturday, July 2nd, working on ongoing projects that help improve living conditions in the community of Solai. They have held a number of fundraising events in the town in the weeks leading up to the trip, the proceeds of which have gone directly to those in the Solai community, who desperately them. In addition to the development of housing in the area, the volunteers have also undertaken the planting of trees in the local school, and the delivery of food parcels and other essentials to impoverished families in the area.
The group have also launched “Wesley’s Munch Soup Kitchen” in the region, named in honour of their friend Wesley Carey, who sadly passed away in 2020.
Those who wish to donate can still do so, there are donation boxes located in Mallow bars Colie’s, the Bridge House and the Mouse Trap, while online donations can also be made via Paypal, the details of which can be found at www.lecheileafrica.org. All donations are very much appreciated.
