The Colin Ronayne Memorial Fund Night

With just weeks to go to the Colin Ronayne Memorial Fund night at the dogs, the organising committee are reporting significant interest from both the local business community and private individuals. The night in question is Saturday November 26th at Curraheen Park, Cork.
All funds raised that night go to Mallow Search and Rescue. The night is in memory of the late Colin Ronayne of Lavally, Mallow. Colin’s family and friends have organised the event in aid of Mallow Search and Rescue who assisted the family so much in the search for Colin during January 2016.
So far the response has been very positive. The chairman of the organising committee, John Joe Ronayne, said: “We are extremely grateful and humbled by the support shown.” John Joe explained that they have decided to raise funds in three ways – presold tickets for the dog night at €10, sponsorship of the races and sponsorship of the programme. “The next two weeks will be important if we are going to reach our target of €40,000.  I would appeal to everyone if you haven’t had an opportunity to support the event please do so. Mallow Search and Rescue have been a great support to our family. They need funds to support their operations and this is our way of rewarding their heroic efforts.”
Already on board with corporate sponsorship are many well-known businesses throughout the Mallow area and beyond.
Significant prizes are available for anyone buying a €10 ticket. Ticket holders can gain access on the night and they are entered into a raffle. Prizes in the raffle include cash prizes of over €1,000, as well as a weekend away courtesy of Supermac’s, dinner for two in Curraheen Park, and vouchers for the Viaduct Inn, Sean Hennessey Electrical, Mallow Swimming Pool and the Gate Cinema.
PRO Noel Walsh remarked: “Our theme for the night is having a sense of fun. We want this to be not only a night to raise funds for a great cause, but a time to also remember Colin and the joy he brought to his family and friends in his short life. We’re expecting a really good crowd and a great evening’s racing. Definitely not to be missed.”
On the night of November 26th the All Ireland champions, the Cork Ladies Football team, will be in attendance and will bring along the Brendan Martin cup. There is a guaranteed jackpot on races 3-8 and the Tote Trio is guaranteed on all races. Each race has a minimum of €500 winners prize to the owners. There is also music and entertainment after the racing.
