Thomas Stritch of Freemount Macra is a great man to speak off the cuff, judging by his success at the National Impromptu Public Speaking Competition in Killarney last weekend where he took home the national title. It was Thomas’s third national win. Another North Cork club, Awbeg Macra, finished runners-up in the Team Public Speaking competition, with team members Mags Leamy, Breda O’Keeffe and Breda Forrest losing to Millstreet.
Best of luck to Banteer and Freemount Macra in the national semi-finals of Capers this weekend. Banteer are off to Trim, Co. Meath, and Freemount are in Aghada, Cork. Two teams go through from each semi to the final being hosted by Avondhu Macra on Friday 5th February in the Mallow Youth Centre.
