Towns and villages show improvement as Tidy Towns results announced

Tidy Towns groups all over Limerick and North Cork were celebrating last weekend after the results of the SuperValu Tidy Towns were announced and towns and villages won awards, while others secured excellent increases in their markings. In Limerick, Adare Tidy Towns was named winner of the county award and recipient of a gold medal, just a couple of days after winning Going for Gold 2022, while Ardpatrick took the runner-up spot, with Galbally in 3rd place. Medals were also awarded to Castleconnell, Newcastle West and Limerick city, while Athea won an Endeavour award for the biggest year-on-year improvement in the county.

In North Cork, Castle-townroche took the runner-up spot behind Coolagown, closely followed by Kildorrery, Milford and Fermoy.
