Tradtime Concert

 

Tradtime (Comhaltas Schools Outreach), in association with the Cathaoirleach of Limerick County Council, John Sheahan and Limerick City of Culture will hold a concert in the Lime Tree Theatre, Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, next Saturday, 17th May, at 8pm. 

Tradtime is an initiative that promotes the teaching and understanding of traditional Irish music, song and dance in national schools around the country. The concert will provide the very best of Irish entertainment, with over 25 schools from Limerick City and County participating. Some of the finest musicians who are employed by Tradtime will also perform on the night, as will many individual soloists. This concert will also see the official launch of Tradtime, thus introducing a totally new concept of teaching music in Ireland. All proceeds from the concert will go to St. Ita’s Hospital, Newcastle West, and St. Camillus’ Hospital, Limerick. Tickets may be obtained from the box office at the Lime Tree Theatre, €15 plus €1 booking fee. See story on page 42.
