Two new Milestones for Mallow Rotary Club

The local Mallow Rotary club reached two milestones this July, when the club welcomed our first ever corporate member which is the Mallow Credit Union where new Business Development Manager Garry McGuinness received his welcome from the new District Governor in Ireland Michael Fleming from Ballymoney in the North of Ireland. Garry from Mallow Credit Union was presented with a Rotary Corporate Membership wall plaque for his premises.
Also, outgoing Club President, Denis O’Donovan was recently appointed as the Mallow club’s first ever Assistant Governor (AG) for the area joining 10 others around the island of Ireland on the national executive committee reporting to the District Governor on behalf of all the Cork based clubs. Denis takes up this position for a 3-year term.
Last week the club members got together for the chain handover to our new President Paul O’Keeffe and President-Elect Catherine O’Flynn.
Next up is our largest fundraising event with our Golf Classic on Thursday 24th July at Mallow Golf Club, with the principal sponsor again this year being Joyces Pharmacy. The beneficiaries from this year’s event are Alzheimer Day Care in Mallow, Meals on Wheels and Mallow Day Care Centre for the elderly. All sponsorship support for these worthwhile charities is being sought at present and any method of support is welcome.
