Wayne starts as he means to go on!

The walk will be held every Tuesday night at 7pm for the next few weeks, and everyone is welcome to go along and take part. Pic, S Murphy.

Mallow’s Wayne O’Don-nell made a spectacular start to ‘Operation Transformation’ last week, losing 11.5lbs in his first week on the programme. The second weigh-in was broadcast last night, Wednesday, on the RTE programme, so the result was not known at the time of going to press, but word has it that Wayne has been religiously following the exercise and diet regime which has been created for him, so we are confident that the needle on the weighing scales is continuing to fall.
Wayne was in Dublin at the weekend to take part in a group challenge, and after a 7am weigh-in on Monday morning he was at Mallow GAA Complex on Monday night where over 300 people turned up to walk and run around Car-rigoon as part of ‘Ireland Lights Up.’ Wayne joined the walkers on the night, and he got a great reception from them. ‘Ireland Lights Up’ will be held every Monday night at Carri-goon, and people of all ages are invited to call in anytime between 7pm and 9pm to enjoy a healthy walk or run.
On Tuesday night, Dano’s SuperValu in Bellevue was the location for the weekly walk, and the ‘Operation Transformation’ camera was on hand to film Wayne and his supporters complete a circuit around the town. This walk will be held at 7pm every Tuesday, assembling at Dano’s, and everyone in the local community is invited to attend.
