A new Children’s Services building, commissioned by West Limerick Children’s Services and the Brothers of Charity Services Limerick, is under construction in Newcastle West. The work on this new building commenced in January 2013 and it is expected that this project will be completed in early 2014. The new centre will be located adjacent to the Desmond Complex, at the back of the fire station and library in Newcastle West. As there is a shortfall of €150,000 in the budget for this building a fundraising committee has been set up to help organise some local fundraising activities. Gemma Fitzgerald, members of her family and work colleagues from Dell, participated in the Great Limerick Run and were successful in raising over €3,020.00 to support this new project. This was a fantastic achievement. Thanks to all who participated and fundraised.
