As a community-based, not-for-profit organisation, West Limerick Sports Complex is committed to ensuring that our services are accessible to as many people as possible.
A key part of this commitment is the introduction of our pool hoist, which provides safe and supported access to the swimming pool for individuals with reduced mobility.
This hoist allows users to enter and exit the water comfortably and safely, helping to reduce barriers that may otherwise prevent people from participating in swimming and aquatic activity. Its use is supported by our trained staff who are available to assist and ensure each session is carried out safely and confidently.
Swimming plays an important role in physical health, rehabilitation, and overall wellbeing, while also offering social and recreational benefits. Swimming can be particularly beneficial for individuals with mobility limitations, offering low-impact exercise that supports strength, flexibility and confidence. We believe that everyone in the community should have the opportunity to enjoy these benefits.
While we do have a waiting list for memberships – all our swimming lessons both group and 1-2-1 (which now includes our new “Swim For All” programme for children with disabilities) and 5 Aqua Aerobic classes per week are available to both members and non-members for all abilities, plus for those who do not want to use the pool – our fitness classes and personal training sessions in our gym are also available to all.
We would like to thank the Grouse Lodge Wind Farm Community Fund, Sports Capital Grant, our staff and members who helped fund raise and all the community who gave generously to our bucket collection and support our Online Lotto fundraiser.
