Mr. Anthony Maguire, club instructor of Charleville Taekwon-Do Club won the -70kg senior male black belt division in sparring at the 2019 Open World Championships held in Sardinia Italy. Anthony had to beat opponents from the Netherlands, England and Canada to claim the gold medal.
Paul Leavitt and Niamh O’Donovan students of Charleville Taekwon-Do also had world champion-ship success. Paul won a gold medal in the -50kg under 14 boys black belt section for sparring and Niamh won a gold medal in the -50kg under 14 girls black belt section for sparring.
