A walk was held on Knockfierna on Easter Monday last as part of the Walking Limerick – Luimneach ag Siúl – a programme of free guided walking tours as part of the Creative Ireland initiative “Cruinniú na Cásca”. A very large crowd attended on a beautiful evening. The walkers were very complimentary of the many walkways on Knockfierna and also the memorial stones that have been erected there (the most recent being one dedicated to the late poet Michael Scanlan).
