Patrick wins silver in European Jiu-Jitsu Championships

Patrick Keating from Charleville travelled to Rome last week for the European Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships and his hard work paid off when he won a silver medal. In his fights, Patrick beat opponents from Spain and Guam before losing gallantly to a US fighter. Michael’s father is Mike and his mother is Eithne, a native of Buttevant. He married Aoife Cahill from Burnfort last year, and the couple live near Doneraile. Patrick has been an exponent of martial arts for many years, starting at taekwondo as a young man and then taking a detour into surfing and water sports before taking up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seven years ago. He is a member of a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club in Limerick and trains four to five days a week. In his working life, Patrick is a driver with Foley Bus Hire in Charleville.
