Remember Alzheimer’s was an initiative held in Mallow in early October to raise vital funds for St Mary’s Day Care Centre, and on Monday night everyone involved came together at the day care centre in Lenihan’s Lane, where a cheque for €22,485.26 was presented by Pat O’Connor to Linda Grogan, Nurse/Director. The weekend of activities saw people taking part in a variety of fundraisers, such as a cycle from Killarney to Mallow, a spinathon, a golf classic, an auction, and other events, and organisers Pat and Aidan O’Connor, Joe Buckley, Cathal Murphy, John Condren and Lar Luddy this week expressed sincere appreciation for all the generous support of local people and businesses. A spokesperson said, “It is difficult to summon up appropriate words to convey our deepest and heartfelt appreciation for the help and contributions, financial and otherwise, from our families, friends, contributors, and sponsors. We were really touched and moved by the love, tenderness and generosity shown to us, the Day Care Centre, and its many clients throughout this wonderful journey. We simply cannot thank you enough. God bless you, one and all.”
