We had a magnificent fundraising event on what was one of the hottest days of the year. The Askeaton Touring Club started off Saturday morning covering Croagh, Newcastle West, Abbeyfeale, Listowel, Tarbert and Foynes (120KM).
It was a wonderful sight to see 140 cyclists coming into Listowel and being greeted by a sea of yellow. All the businesses in town gave us fantastic support by turning their windows yellow for the occasion. I felt a great sense of community spirit, support and appreciation for the wonderful pupils who attend our school.
We are very grateful to Askeaton Touring Club, stewards, marshals, gardai and our 90 volunteers who collected on the day and of course all those who donated. The funds raised will go into updating 3 classes for pupils with autism and resources/equipment for our very special children.
We are very proud and passionate about our school and were thrilled to highlight it for this occasion.
